need advice-Potty training.
Ok, so Dani is almost 2 1/2 and has no interest in the potty. I got her a cool pink princess one that sings when she pees. Oh, she'll sit and use it as a stool to reach things. LOL
How should I start? Its been years since I potty trained the boys!!!

get some undies, tell her she's a big girl now and she doesn't need diapers and can go on the potty. I was one for the cold turkey method... be gone with diapers, be prepared to do a lot of pick-ups and stick to your guns.

None of my kids were trained until at least 3 years old and then they were trained within the week. Preston is 5 and still has to wear a pullup at night because he can't stay dry all night. As a matter of fact, his pull up is soaked in the morning. If you cold turkey with her, make sure you can stay home the whole time and follow her around, so if she goes, you can clean it up right away. And be prepared for TONS of laundry.

I did what Susan did. When I was sure we were going for it, we put them in undies and never turned back.

I did cold turkey with the boys at 3. It worked great! I am home all day with her now, we are down to one car. So that is why I was thinking of trying it. She knows shes going pee/poop but wont tell me til after.
What do you think about letting her go naked all day? Its just me and her here. LOL! (my laundry phobia kicking in) I hate doing laundry!!

I'd rather wash clothing than floors. Do you have carpet? I started with those thick undies so when they did go, it held some of the mess in, more than regular undies would have.

We did cold turkey with all of them too. No pull ups or turning back to diapers. The key to success with this method, tho... is waiting until the child(ren) shows signs that they are ready. If you try to push it before they show buy-in... you are asking for trouble.

I am trying this morning. Ugh. She was excited with the new Dora undies. Loved it. Sat on the potty with her undies on and i told her she had to pull them down to go potty and she cried. LOL! Then she sat on the couch and peed. Ugh!!!
Gretchen we have all hardwood floors which is nice, get the swiffer out and swiff. LOL Mary, Im just not sure she is ready yet. ![]()
